2012 TCR Advanced 0

The TCR Advanced has a conventional seatmast and is supposed to be 15% more comfortable because of this. It is made out of Toray’s T-700 fibers. The dropouts and bottom bracket sleeve is made out of aluminum, and the whole design uses a more modular monocoque construction.

The claimed weight of the frame drops from 968g to 908g, and the new fork adds only an extra 368g. It comes in a women’s-specific version with a slightly longer head tube and shortened top tube. There are three models available in Taiwan (plus another model for the women’s-specific line). The top range TCR Advanced 0 comes with Shimano Ultegra Di2, which is great way to get into the electronic gruppos.

US MSRP for the 2012 TCR Advanced 0 is $4,550 USD. As with the TCR Advanced SL models, Giant now uses their own wheels, lowering the overall cost of the complete bikes. The US MSRP for the frame is $1,700 USD, while the Advanced 1 costs $3,700 USD and the Advanced 3 costs $3,050 USD.

2012 TCR Advanced SL 0 ISP

For the 2012 model year, Giant tweaked their top-of-the line TCR Advanced SL frameset. It’s by no means drastic, but it follows the same lines and technology that they established with the previous model. Giant tends to work in 3-year product cycles, so the 2012 model is a safe bet for the next few years.

The new model has improved steering and has shed over 140g, which is no mean feat. The claimed weight for a M sized frameset is 820g and US MSRP for the ISP version is $3,200 USD, slightly more expensive than last year.

You’ll find subtle shape refinements all around. Giant claims that they haven’t lost any of the frame’s stiffness with this, and impact durability has been boosted by 14%. Giant is using Toray’s stiffer T-800 fibers in this model. A number of bits that were previously made out of aluminum have been changed over to carbon fiber, such as the rear dropouts, the bottom bracket sleeve, and the new direct drop-in headset bearing seats.

2012 Giant TCR Advanced SL 2 ISP

The frame has tighter joints between sections and A-type seat stays, compared to last year’s wishbone shape. This is a notable difference, making it easy to spot 2012 models. The non-drive chain stay has got a pocket for Giant’s RideSense ANT+ system.

The top-of-the-line TCR Advanced SL 0 comes with Shimano Dura Ace Di2. Costs have been lowered because this year, Giant is using their own wheels. The Team edition Rabobank comes with Shimano Dura Ace. The TCR Advanced 2 SL ISP comes with SRAM Red .

2012 Pinarello Dogma 2

During this year’s Tour de France, we got our first glimpses of Pinarello’s new Dogma 2. It’s stiffer, more aerodynamic, and lighter. Pinarello examined how riders used the Dogma and improved on it. The top tube of the Dogma 2 is slightly off center to the right, allowing the rider more balance. The aerodnyamics and stiffness of the front end were improved. It’s 19% stiffer, so it will allow you to brake more precisely. The sculpted crown integrates seamlessly into the re-shaped down tube.

All cables are now routed internally. All of the changes make the Dogma 2 6% more aerodynamic. The asymmetry of the bike is quite evident. The left and right side are different upon closer examination. It’s still made out of 60HM1K Torayca carbon fiber. Weight-savings are only of 30g compared to the previous model. The Pinarello Dogma 2 is available in 12 sizes and a number of different colors.  The Dogma 2 comes in a Di2-ready version.

2012 Giant TCR Advanced SL 0 ISP

The 2012 Giant models are finally available for order. We have the full line of Giant bikes, from low end to high end. There have been a few changes from the 2011 model year and ultimately, it’s going to be a great time for some good bikes. The 2012 model range from Giant hasn’t gone up on the Taiwanese website, but you can check out what’s available on the US site. We have good prices on most bikes and frames. Be advised that there are some spec changes and model changes in each of the different world markets.
