Tour de France 2011 Stage 2 Les Essarts Team Time Trial

The Tour de France started again last Saturday. The second stage is a team time trial. Honestly, it’s something that would fit better mid-race than in the beginning. I like how the race started with an individual time trial. Unsurprisingly, Garmin-Cervelo posted the best time and it reshuffled the GC. That’s to be expected, it’s still early going. Contador continued to lose time to his rivals, which is good in my book.

Saxo Bank goes first and finishes with 25:16. Contador is already 1:20 back of the leaders. Today is the day that he tries to manage the deficit, not get into yellow.

Contador was swept up in the crash yesterday, which made him lose a lot of time.

Vacansoleil beats Euskaltel Euskadi to get into 2nd place at 26:03.

Rabobank is looking well at the 1st timecheck. They are 3″ faster than Saxo Bank. AG2R finishes with 25:41. They are in 2nd for now.

Garmin-Cervelo is about to start. At the 1st checkpoint, they are at 9:03.

Rabobank finishes with 25′. FDJ finish at 25:34. Liquigas finishes with 25:45. Garmin-Cervelo finishes with 24:48. Europcar finishes with 25:38. Quick-Step gets 25:44.
I don’t like the new colors of Team Sky. The green and black don’t look as good as the blue and black. Astana finishes with 25:20. Katusha gets 25:52. Sky finishes with 24:52.

A HTC rider hits the deck while going through a bend. Lampre finishes with 25:52. Cofidis gets 26:08. Radioshack gets 24:58. HTC finishes with 24:53.

Leopard-Trek finishes with 24:53. BMC finishes with 24:52. OLO 25:27.
